Один анонимный киноакадемик (female, PR branch) выложил свою анкету и высказался об "Оскаре", критиках "Оскара" и некоторых картинах в частности. В мощной и эмоциональной речи (даже по тексту это заметно) стало очевидно то, почему "Сельму" прокатили по полной. Киноакадемики не любят, когда им "навязывают" необходимость отдать голос. Они не хотят голосовать за "black movie'' только потому, что это кино про черных. Это не расизм, заметим. Это раздражение от внешней оценки происходящего: если ты не голосуешь за "Сельму", тебя назовут расистом.

On "Selma": First, let me say that I'm tired of all of this talk about "snubs" — I thought for every one of [the snubs] there was a justifiable reason. What no one wants to say out loud is that Selma is a well-crafted movie, but there's no art to it. If the movie had been directed by a 60-year-old white male, I don't think that people would have been carrying on about it to the level that they were. And as far as the accusations about the Academy being racist? Yes, most members are white males, but they are not the cast of 'Deliverance' — they had to get into the Academy to begin with, so they're not cretinous, snaggletoothed hillbillies. When a movie about black people is good, members vote for it. But if the movie isn't that good, am I supposed to vote for it just because it has black people in it? I've got to tell you, having the cast show up in T-shirts saying "I can't breathe" — I thought that stuff was offensive. Did they want to be known for making the best movie of the year or for stirring up shit?

"Лучшая женская роль" - традиционно моя любимая категория в любом киносезоне. За актрисами я слежу также пристально, как и за главными фильмами года. Поэтому мне очень приятно осознавать, что 2014 совершенно точно удался на отличные перфомансы среди слабой половины человечества. Было непросто сформировать пятерку номинантов, хотя с актрисой года я определился довольно быстро. Марион Котийяр в ленте братьев Дарденн "Два дня, одна ночь" выдала мощнейшую роль, пожалуй, лучшую в своей карьере. А вот за "серебро" другим претенденткам еще предстоит борьба.

Ниже вы можете посмотреть мою великолепную пятерку прекрасных женщин. А вот вам на закуску альтернативный список номинантов (те актрисы, которые оказались не до конца со мной близки): Шейлин Вудли ("Виноваты звезды"), Эсси Дэвис ("Бабадук"), Эми Адамс ("Большие глаза"), Дженни Слейт ("Свой ребенок"), Дана Ивги ("Мотивации ноль"). Особенно стоит отметить Шейлин Вудли: в ней я вижу огромный потенциал как актрисы. Однако, в этот раз конкуренция оказалась слишком сильной и места ей в пятерке не нашлось.

Качественная и местами реалистичная бытовуха; чудовищные диалоги персонажей; масса чернушного морализаторства; из-за скверного сценария актеры здесь не могут показать максимум, потому что играть нечего по сути; киношный оммаж криминальной России 90-х похлеще "Левиафана" (Звягинцеву хватило ума остановиться вовремя); неадекватный и утрированный утопист в главной роли; просто глупые сцены без какой-либо логики (разговор об убийстве и "стволах" по мобиле). Это просто серенькое кино, берущее вечной темой "как хреново жить в России". На фоне такого чуда даже не слишком понравившийся "Левиафан" кажется шедевром. Звягинцев все-таки пытается мыслить на универсальные темы, а не спекулирует ужасами соседнего двора.

В ночь с 22 на 23 февраля состоится торжественная церемония награждения лауреатов очередного "Оскара". Этот сезон был длинным, интересным и драйвовым. В Америке до сих пор расходятся мнения по поводу победы даже в "лучшем фильме", а это означает то, что будущий виннер никому неизвестен. И это довольно круто!

Ставки сделаны, ставок больше нет. Ниже мой прогноз на "Оскар".
