Алексей Герман - один из величайших российских режиссеров, который в ходе своей карьеры смог придумать и отточить собственный киноязык. Жаль, что он снял не так много фильмов. Зато каждый его фильм - приглашение к размышлениям, неудобным темам, а в плане эстетики - погружение в авторский гиперреализм.

Я проранжировал его фильмографию в рамках рубрики Ranked от худшего к лучшему:

6. Трудно быть Богом (2013)
Неудачная экранизация Стругацких, от которых остались "рожки да ножки". Фильм начинал снимать сам Герман, а заканчивал фактически его сын - Герман-мл (по крайней мере точно монтировал), ведь фильм вышел уже после смерти Германа-ст. Тут подробная рецензия на фильм.

5. Седьмой спутник (1968)
Дебютный фильм Германа, в котором еще не ощущается в полной мере его мастерство и стиль. "Седьмой спутник" - просто ок, не более того.

4. Двадцать дней без войны (1977)
Прекрасное кино по сценарию Константина Симонова. Элегантная драма с советскими звездами первой величины Никулиным и Гурченко, которые тут сыграли одни из лучших своих ролей. Особенный в плане монтажа кин: после просмотра четко запоминается длинный монолог в поезде, который выбивается из привычного ритма кинематографа.

3. Мой друг Иван Лапшин (1984)
По мнению многих критиков, данная лента является вершиной фильмографии Германа, в которой его киноязык по максимуму был раскрыт. Действительно, лента очень талантливая, но у меня лишь третья в рейтинге.

2. Хрусталев, машину! (1998)
Фильм, опередивший свое время. В 1998 он был показан на Каннском фестивале, но там его никто не понял. В "Хрусталеве" сложно разобраться, не зная сталинской части советской истории (того же "дела врачей" хотя бы). Фильм, в котором гипер-реализм и сюр-реализм таинственным образом сплетаются в один клубок. Этот фильм - нечто выдающееся.

1. Проверка на дорогах (1971)
Один из лучших военных фильмов всех времен. Кино, пролежавшее на "полке" пятнадцать лет из-за своей смелой тематики. Какое-то чистое, незамутненное и в полной мере авторское высказывание о скрытых героях Великой отечественной. Да, это просто-напросто шедевр.
