Как и в случае с предыдущими лентами, Дени Вильнев снова не смог выжать максимум из своего потенциала. Вот и "Сикарио" (в нашем прокате "Убийца") представляет из себя образец прекрасно снятого и смонтированного жанрового кино, но при этом крайне ограниченного в плане месседжа и даже слегка пустоватого. Борьба картелей представлена крайне стерильно (после "Советника" я уже и не надеюсь увидеть что-то шедевральное здесь), местами проскакивает типично американско-демократический пафос ("Это так же важно, как найти вакцину"), а слитая концовка уводит нас куда-то в поля треша уровня "джона уика" (в одиночку перестрелял всех главарей наркомафии, ок). В сценарном плане здесь только живой персонаж - у Эмили Блант. Она демонстрирует в ограниченном нарративном поле все грани актерской игры: харизму, страх, слезы, понимание своей беспомощности. Ей хоть можно со-переживать, а вот вокруг нее обитает целая толпа клишированных и довольно слабо прописанных мужиков. Вильнев то ли пытался повторить успех "Траффика", то ли вдохновился лентой Кэтрин Бигелоу "Цель номер один". В обоих случаях у него это не получилось. Да, с Дикинсом куда легче снять мастерское кино (хотя он во многом копипастит Грега Фрэйзера из ZDT). Но для шедевра нужно нечто большее. А у канадца снова не вышло прыгнуть выше головы.
