Готовимся потихоньку к "Грешникам" Райана Куглера. А пока я вам предлагаю вспомнить один из hidden gems 90-х про вампиров. Это фильм Ричарда Элфмана "Нежить" (или другое название "Современные вампиры"). Это практически неизвестное и малобюджетное кино, вышедшее в прокат в совсем малом ряде стран. В США оно попало прямиком на видео, минуя театральный релиз. Да, это вполне себе "бэшка", но довольно задорная.

Среди актеров тут легендарный Род Стайгер (в роли ван Хельсинга!), Ким Кэтролл, Наташа Грегсон Вагнер, совсем юная Наташа Лионн и даже наша Наталья Андрейченко. Вполне себе интересный каст, надо сказать. По сюжету некая "Голливудская потрошительница" изображает из себя проститутку и затем убивает потенциальных клиентов, высасывая из них кровь. Высшие представители вампирской знати (во главе с самим графом Дракулой) хотят ее найти и уничтожить, опасаясь того, что люди в мире обнаружат присутствие вампиров среди них.

"Нежить" (Modern Vampires) сочетает в себе хоррор и комедию. К примеру, ван Хельсинг нанимает к себе в помощники чернокожего бандита, чтобы тот помог ему убивать вампиров. Затем вся "черная братва" из нескольких афроамериканцев вступает в бой с нечистыми силами. В ленте немало неполиткорректного юмора. В фильме специально собраны явные клише про черных: они постоянно курят травку, слушают хип-хоп, трахают белую женщину (хотя она и вампир), а ван Хельсинга называют нацистом. Условно говоря, тут "Южный Централ" встречается с вампирским синема.
